RestEd can be beneficial to anyone looking to better understand their sleep and factors influencing the quality of their rest.

Hello, I’m Dr. Norah Vincent. I specialize in treating sleep difficulties including insomnia and have performed research at the University of Manitoba and the Health Sciences Centre in the sleep treatment field for many years.

I have developed RestEd as a special therapy program to help those with trouble sleeping. This program delivers a series of techniques and a program called cognitive behavioral therapy or CBT for short. My research trials have demonstrated that this type of program works very well when delivered over the internet, and has shown that more than 4 out of 5 people who participated reported improved sleep!

Consequently, when we published these findings the program received a lot of attention. The New York Times, US News and World Report, and other major publications reported on our results.

The response to this program has been exciting and enthusiastic which is rewarding for me as someone who treats patients in my clinic as well as someone who has studied ways to make a better night’s sleep possible for people everywhere.

The other aspect of the program that has caught people’s attention is that, unlike some medications used to treat sleeplessness, it is associated with very few, if any, risks and side effects.

Our online insomnia program is divided into 6 weeks with a series of modules, videos, written content and exercises to help you engage.

The RestEd program is interactive, easy to use, private & confidential, and available to you 24 hours a day.

How Do I Get Started?

RestEd is a website product currently available in the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Alberta. The mission is to provide education and support to Canadians affected by sleep disorders.

RestEd can be beneficial to anyone looking to better understand their sleep and factors influencing the quality of their rest.

To help you determine which of our resources would be helpful to you, please answer the following questions. We are asking these questions of potential participants because we have found that responses to these items impact upon success with our program.

Of course, if you are in an acute crisis, or are suffering from another active illness you may not be a good candidate for this online program and should discuss the suitability of this program with your doctor.

As with all health issues, it is always best to talk to your doctor about what is troubling you and what you are doing to try to improve. Trouble sleeping can be caused by a wide variety of contributing factors. If you have any other health concerns you should always talk to your doctor about those as well.

Calling a crisis centre is the right thing to do if you or someone you know is in crisis. Many centres offer telephone support 24 hours a day, and most are associated with professional counselors.
